Santorini is one of those places that take your breath away. Would you ever consider about eloping there? How many times in your life have you dreamt of a place where you can get away and all you can see is the blue sky, the endless sea and that unique washed out background, made of tiny white houses spread all around on a rocky island. I’m sure that you’ve seen this wallpaper at some of your friends’ macbooks. Well, this is Santorini.
But it would be so unfair to only think of Santorini as just that. Santorini, officially Thira, is the largest island of a small, circular archipelago and is the remnant of a Volcanic Caldera. The island was the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions: the Minoan eruption, which occurred about 3600 years age at the height of the Minoan civilization. It is the most active volcanic center in the south Aegean Volcanic Arc though what remains today is chiefly a water filled caldera. The region first became volcanically active around 3-4 millions years ago. So impressive!

There are countless boutique hotels and cave houses with AMAZING view where you can organize your elopement. Exchanging your vows in a private balcony on the top of the Caldera, having the volcano view as your background. Awesome! In this case, of course, you’re gonna need the assistance of a trustworthy wedding planner. She will be in charge of your dreamy decoration and she can also arrange a romantic dinner for two as the best ending of your elopement. Candle light and love vibes. Could it get any better? You don’t have to worry about anything. After all, it’s your day. Just relax and enjoy every single moment. So yes, elope in Santorini looks like a great idea!

No matter which style you prefer for your elopement, the only thing you can be sure of, is that you will have the most amazing pictures. Few weeks before your elopement we will make a detailed timeline of the day. This is of great importance if you want the pics of your dreams. You may dream of images with white houses as your background or you may prefer Cliffside pictures. You may wish to exchange your vows on the edge of a rock or in a tiny balcony under the warm tones of the unique Santorini sunset. Well, there are so many things that should we discuss before we meet, that make the good photography schedule an one-way road.
Piece of advice
After capturing countless of elopements in Santorini, there is one thing we can say for sure. The more enthusiastic you are the better experience will you have. The more stressed free you feel, the better pictures you will have. Your elopement is an one in a lifetime experience. Nothing more meaningful than justifying your love to your second half. Isn’t it the purest kind of love? Raw feelings and precious moments that should be treated the way it deserved them to be. So yes, there are no dos and donts. Just let your heart guide you and let the love lead the way. It’s YOUR day. Live it! After all, to elope is either a daring adventure or nothing.

- – The best time of year to elope in Santorini is April-May and late September-October. The temperature is not that hot (about 20-24 degrees) and the island is not that crowded.
- – You can reach the island either by plane (via the Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos) or by Ferry from the Port of Piraeus.
- – Where to stay. There are countless indredible hotels and their budget varies according to the location and time of visit. You can ask us for recommendations.
– Things to do. There is a big variety of things you can do in the island while staying there such as hiking, private tours, sailing tours, wine tasting and so many others. The only thing for sure, is that you won’t get bored!
