A Corfu wedding may seem like a dream for many people ..especially for those who live abroad. A beautiful Greek island in the Ionian Sea, in the western side of Greece. Sunny weather, warm climate, greenery background and amazing crystal blue beaches. An idyllic scenery, not only for the couples who decide to live there their Big day, but for their guests too. A great opportunity where you can combine your attendance at a beloved’s wedding, with relaxing vacation at one of the most beautiful Greek islands. Sounds awesome! But the truth is that Ben and Kate chose this particular island , not only for the above reasons, but also for other reasons, deeper and more sentimental than these ones. They met and fell in love in the UK. But somehow, they knew that there is just one place in the world that would be the best for their wedding.. they somehow knew..
It all started many years back, at their years of their childhood. Ben’s parents are totally in love with Greece and Greek culture in general. His mother can even speaks and write in Greek! For some reasons , that they are the only ones to know, they fell in love with Corfu. They used to travel there since they were young..and even later, when they became parents and created their beautiful family. Overwhelmed with such tender memories from his childhood, Ben always thought of this place as something precious.. On the other hand, Kate had visited several times the island and always came back..was it luck or maybe destiny..no matter what, when they decided to connect their lifes and souls, they could have never thought of a better place than this.. Friends and families traveled from the UK and gathered at an amazing venue , next to the beach and surrounded by olive trees.
Could this be any more Greek? Kate decided to arrive at the venue by boat. Surrounded be her bridesmaids , and best friends, she arrived in style. Greek style. Such an emotional moment.. to see the father and daughter walk to the aisle..holding her father’s arm and look at him in his eyes. Parents will never understand how fast time flies and this beautiful lady next to you , seems like Yesterday, were once your little girl. Your princess.
Under the shade of the olive trees , with just some naughty rays of light between the branches , lightening their faces, Ben and Kate exchanged vows of everlasting love, trust and commitment. Nearby the venue, at Taverna Kerasia , right in front of the beach, all guests tasted the delicious Greek menu. Souvlaki, lamp, tzatziki and of course the incredible pomegranate wedding cake , made by the amazing Cake Boutique Corfu. Highlight of the dinner, the emotional speech of Kate’s father and the Greek (!) speech of Ben’s mother. Wow! Perfect ending of this beautiful wedding was the craziest party with the craziest couple, friends and parents!
Nothing would have been so magical and nothing would have worked so smoothly, if Lauren and John from Corfuweddingplanner , had not organised everything so perfectly.
After that day (and night) we are sooo sure that Corfu will remain in everybody’s heart for a long-long time !
